- indemnify somebody (against something)
to promise to pay somebody an amount of money if they suffer any damage or loss 保證賠償 The contract indemnifies them against loss of earnings. 合同保證賠償他們的收入損失。
- indemnify somebody (for something)
to pay somebody an amount of money because of the damage or loss that they have suffered 賠償；補償 The tenant is legally required to indemnify the landlord for any damage caused to the property. 法律要求承租人賠償房東對財産造成的任何損害。
